HER STORY
Genna and Todd were always ones to go their own way, so when it came to planning their nuptials they threw the wedding playbook out the window in favor of all things authentic and awesome.
Hosted in the backyard of their John’s Island home, Genna and Todd were joined by friends and family for a soiree under the stars. Opting out of traditional bridal parties, the pair gave their furbabies the royal treatment with custom flower crowns, and were married by a close friend who got ordained just for the occasion. Todd set the jewel tone by donning a dapper wine-colored velvet tux jacket.
Rocking gold Chuck Taylor All-Star high tops, the bride danced with her dad down the aisle to Paul Simon’s “You can call me Al.” After exchanging vows they’d written themselves, the pair got the party started by sashaying away to “It’s Tricky” by Run-D.M.C. Guests dined together as the friends and family they had become beneath the full moon.
For her big day, Genna made a statement in Matthew Christopher’s glamorous Tiger Lilly gown. The moment she put on this modern silk Mikado number, she knew she had found the one with its asymmetrical skirt and divine diagonal panels doing her justice from every angle in every photo. To make the gown her own, she had the back lowered a few inches and polished off her look with baubles from Petite Delights by Ilona Rubin.
