All About Romona

From our Southern Protocol Bridal family to yours...

On May 23, 2009, Ann E. Rice married her high school sweetheart, Tucker Ervin.

As a bride-to-be preparing for both a new marriage and new career, Ann E. approached finding her gown as she does anything else – with intention and tenacity. Planning a formal southern soiree, Ann E. knew she wanted a gown that embodied elegance, tradition and would stand the test of time. She sought fine fabric sans sheen or shine with craft construction that would fit her like a glove.

At her first ever bridal appointment she stumbled onto her first ever bridal trunk show. It happened to feature internationally famed designer Romona Keveža. As Ann E. was convinced she wanted lace, the appointment started with a gown clad in delicate gradations of lace. She looked at her reflection and laughed – so much for plan A.

Romona’s representative piped up with a recommendation from the Legend’s Collection.

Ann E. stepped into her first Romona Keveža gown and swooned over the bodice with its slight off the shoulder sweep and classic v-neckline. She then tried another of Romona’s signature silhouettes with a crisp bustled skirt. Torn, she had found the one in two distinct gowns. Although it was love at first sight, Ann E. was determined to follow through with her other appointments. Gown after gown, she kept coming back to Romona Keveža and soon realized no other option compared.

Ann E. was conflicted, however, on how to choose – the perfect bodice or the right skirt? Romona herself came to the rescue with a custom design marrying the bodice and skirt to create Ann E.’s dream dress.

“I did not want to look at my wedding pictures in 20 years and question my dress,” said Ann E. Rice Ervin. “With classic elegance, quality fabric and careful construction, Romona Keveža has stood the test of time, which made her designs the perfect choice for me.”

Ann E. was not the only Rice lady to fall in love with Romona Keveža that day. The classic cuts and timeless elegance of Romona’s designs also caught the eye of her mother, Lisa. Lisa had previously selected a beautiful number for her daughter’s wedding, but couldn’t help feeling it wasn’t quite the one.

After perusing the Legend’s Collection, she discovered that many of Romona’s wedding gowns were available in alternate colors to include Lisa’s signature mint green.

It was fate! As a final touch, Lisa had Southern Protocol Bridal’s alterations expert, Roberta, craft a shoulder wrap from the fabric removed from the gown’s train. Both Rice ladies walked down the aisle in divine custom creations made possible by Romona Keveža.

“ROMONA fits the timeless design and premier construction we promise our brides, while providing the flexibility to make a gown your own with abundant choices and a gentle price point.” said boutique principal Lisa S. Rice.
